A Few Little Tidbits Of Recently Learned Lessons

A few things I’ve learned recently…

The oft-used cliche: “Satan attacks hardest those who are the biggest threat.” Someone told me this when I was talking about hard times in my life. I said that I must be a really big threat (half-joking). She said that I was, and that my light shined brightly. So I commented on how I don’t feel like it does. Her response? “I’ve never met a light bulb that can tell me its wattage.” Words of wisdom right there…(Shoutout to phrognut!)

Also, if the act of surrendur to God is a daily, if not moment by moment process (Luke 9:23, emphasis on “daily”) on our part…then it would make sense if it is on God’s part as well. He breaks us (or allows us to be broken) just as much as we are able to handle (along the lines of I Cor. 10:13), and waits and helps and loves us through the healing process, only to repeat again (and the reason it feels worse every time is because it is: you can handle more each time).

And in addition to my current lesson learning more about how important prayer and the Spirit is to our Walk with Christ, there are two goals I have in mind:

1. To “waste” myself on the Lord. Mary poured her alabaster jar of oil on Jesus…the money could have been spent on the poor, yes. But then, the world considers those poor people to be worth more than Jesus, and would believe to give Him anything would be a waste. But if He is everything, why not waste it? :D

2. I also want to reach the point of Chris Tomlin’s “How Can I Keep From Singing.” (click here to watch the video, or read the lyrics below)

God Bless,

“How Can I Keep From Singing”
by Chris Tomlin

There is an endless song
Echoes in my soul
I hear the music ring

And though the storms may come
I am holding on
To the rock I cling

How can I keep from singing Your praise
How can I ever say enough
How amazing is Your love
How can I keep from shouting Your name
I know I am loved by the King
And it makes my heart want to sing

I will lift my eyes
In the darkest night
For I know my Savior lives

And I will walk with You
Knowing You’ll see me through
And sing the songs You give

I can sing in the troubled times
Sing when I win
I can sing when I lose my step
And fall down again
I can sing ’cause You pick me up
Sing ’cause You’re there
I can sing ’cause You hear me, Lord
When I call to You in prayer
I can sing with my last breath
Sing for I know
That I’ll sing with the angels
And the saints around the throne
